I had a dream that I was sitting at the top of a lecture hall classroom and there was an army of knee-high terry-cloth monkeys walking up towards me, and if you did something to one of them, all of them would do the same thing. I was demonstrating this to some classmates by tickling one and then all of the monkeys would laugh. Then I made one cry and a bunch of monkeys crumpled into one and I told Liezl to tweet on our account that “I made a ball of cry.” Then I ran up and down these stairs because the cops were chasing me but whenever they caught me I would morph into a different person and then make my escape.

I finished a book! Hah, it’s just been a while. I love all this free time (or so I call it, I always have a to-do list a mile long) and today I chose to spend it curled up in bed (I laid horizontally across the head of the bed… have you ever been in bed other than how you normally sleep? it’s weird even sleeping on the other side) at 2 in the afternoon with this playlist on and I finished the last few essays of I Was Told There’d Be Cake and I quite enjoyed it.

Last week my mom was out of town which meant I had the house to myself during the daytimes. I went out / socialized every single day. The week basically consisted of:

Des, Flemilyoyo, & Tiff
Liezl
daydrinking with both parties
nonstop compliments
playgrounds
countless cigarettes
iPhone pictures
Dance Central 2
yogurt
Temple Run
being angry at mallpeople
sandwich shops
kissing
couches
laying in grass
Soul Calibur IV
constantly looking for keys
watching videos
inconsequential pranks
hugging AJ for long periods of time
walking
exclaiming “balls”
Myq Kaplan
faxing shit
driving recklessly
almost doing the splits
neglecting my laptop
blasting black people music windows down
receiving / finding cash
an awkward movie to pass the time
glorious sleep
lots of laughter

That’s all I can think of. A lot more activity than I’m used to these days, and probably more than I’m going to get since school starts in a few days. I’m surprisingly more we’ll-see than anxious about school, I’m not overly prepared but I’m feeling pretty optimistic about it.

P.S. I’ve also since turned 18, which beforehand I imagined would be really exciting and I would do everything I was basically allowed to do the second I turned, but that didn’t happen. I’m not that bummed though seeing as it’s not like hookah lounging, skydiving, clubbing, getting my tattoos / piercings, purchasing cigarettes myself etc. are really going anywhere, and it’s nice to have options. But I did get my industrial thanks to and with Liezl, so that’s a step in the right direction.

I spent New Year’s Eve with Desiree, Tiffany, Emilio, AJ, and Marjorie. We all dressed up and I must say we’re a fabulously good-looking bunch. I wore a ridic sparkly pink and yellow dress that was almost as long as my upper-thigh-length black trench, my favorite Steve Madden mary jane wedges, and a black smokey eye. The rest of the night was pretty simple but utterly enjoyable. We had dinner and dessert at Chili’s, Desiree and I covertly (but not really since the whole group had just discussed this) asked some waiter to sing happy birthday to Marjorie. Afterwards we checked to see if Target was open so we could buy Apples to Apples (it was closed). Then we proceeded to Tiffany’s then Desiree’s where various fun / cuteness / ridiculousness ensued.

But anyway, I’m happy to say that I spent the night with some people I really care about / are there for me. It was especially comforting because I’ve decided that this new year is not going to be wasted on anything or anyone that doesn’t matter, which one would think is an obvious outlook but is definitely not one I’ve been practicing. I do sort of have resolutions but I don’t want to pressure myself too much by calling them that… let’s just say I’ve got a good feeling and so far, the motivation and support to keep it that way.

Last night was fun. It was Paul’s 21st birthday and the last day of finals for my first semester of college → plenty of reason to celebrate. There aren’t too many pictures to document it, but maybe it’s for the best haha. Here’s one though, of Liezl and I, and some guy she said was ugly but warm. (She’s the one who Tinky-fied his face. -_-)

dead week

It is my dead week. Is it my fault no one recognizes this? I have been fucking up priorities left and right and have a sociology final tomorrow that I am just starting to study for right now. I am vowing to rid my mind of almost everything I’ve been worrying about and knock out these three remaining finals (one per day leading up to the last day of all campus finals). Starting right now (at the latest tomorrow morning) my priorities will be to study, do the reading work for my next final (French), prepare notecards and do practice tests for the one after that (math). Interspersed can be duties at home while my mom’s away, cleaning the house, giving the dog a bath, devoting time to walks / park for the dog, eating regularly, and cleaning my room. Only after all that will I even think about thinking about the party on Friday night. It’s consumed too much time already and it hasn’t even happened yet. That will be the reward / celebration for the official end of my first semester at college.

Oh plus this five minute blog to remind myself what to do. And, now!
